GNGE Commended at National Rail Awards
After much anticipation the National Transport Awards finally arrived on Thursday 8th November. It was a great evening of success stories, especially for a project that tusp are heavily involved in, GNGE.
The GNGE project consists of an upgrade of the 84 mile Great Northern Great Eastern route that runs from Peterborough to Doncaster. The upgrade includes the re-control of all of the signalling from local signal boxes to the Lincoln Signalling Centre. Project works cover extensive civils of over and under bridge renewals and plain line track and S&C renewals, together with the largest level crossing programme ever to be undertaken in the UK.
At the Awards GNGE was highly commended in the category of Construction and Engineering Project of the Year for the vast undertaking of work not only in the sheer size of the route but also for the complexity of the works.
It is a great achievement for the project to be recognised for the outstanding work that it is doing and we are very proud to be involved and supply many key resources for the project.
